General information

​

The Spanish Volunteering Platform was created in 1986 as a non-governmental organisation, to coordinate the promotion and dissemination of volunteering in Spain.

​

Nowadays it brings together 76 volunteer organisations. All the organisations of the Platform gather together more than 800 associations. The platform represents approximately 800,000 volunteers all over Spain.

​

The Platform is subsidised by the Former Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. It administers the Voluntary Observatory which was created in collaboration with the Ministry, and it is a member of the organising committee of the State Volunteering Congress.

Its main activities include

​

• Management of the Voluntary Observatory – centre for research, documentation and information on volunteering in Spain

• Communication and awareness-raising; promotion of volunteering including through new technologies

• Training; the Integral Training Plan seeks to respond to the educational needs raised by territorial entities and platforms

• Networking
