The Federació Catalana de Voluntariat Social was founded in 1989 as an initiative of different volunteer associations.

​

The principal aims of the centre are:

 

• Encouraging more citizens to become volunteers

• Creating a network where volunteering associations, private companies and public institutions can collaborate.
