General Information

Present The Hague is where volunteering meets human connection — right in the heart of one of the most diverse and international cities in Europe. Since 2008, we’ve been building bridges between people who are ready to give and those who could use a helping hand. Our goal? A city where no one stands alone.

We believe that everyone has something to offer: time, skills, compassion. By matching groups of volunteers with people facing tough times — whether due to poverty, poor health, social isolation, or other challenges — we create moments of genuine encounter that spark hope, dignity, and belonging.

From painting a living room for someone rebuilding their life, to preparing meals in a shelter, to mentoring youth with limited support systems — our projects are practical, personal, and deeply impactful. Every project is a chance for people from different walks of life to meet each other, learn from each other, and build a stronger community together.

 

What We Do

• We organise practical volunteer projects in The Hague and surrounding areas, in collaboration with local social organizations and care professionals.

• We support people in vulnerable situations, while always emphasizing dignity, respect, and mutual exchange.

• We mobilise teams — from schools, companies, families, and friends — to take action in their own city.

• We create experiences that connect, where giving time also means gaining perspective.
   

Present Den Haag is more than a volunteering organisation — we are part of a social movement. A movement that believes we can build a better city, not just through policy or programs, but through people showing up for each other.

Our Impact

Over the years, thousands of volunteers have joined us in helping their neighbors. But the numbers only tell part of the story. What truly matters are the smiles, the shared meals, the repaired homes, the heartfelt conversations. These are the moments that change lives — sometimes in ways we can’t predict.
